Class Description
(F): Non-Profit Organizations

Organizations that are tax exempt under 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

The group or organization has been approved by the Superintendent as an "approved school-related group" or as a non-profit group (i.e., does not collect a fee for private gain).  Class B groups will be charged an upfront rental fee of $10,000 per fiscal year in addition to hourly custodial fees.

 

(G): Resident Organizations Use or adult leagues, programs, or activities composed entirely of residents of Fairfield. 
(H) Out-of-Town Organizations

Any organization with participants who are not residents of the Town of Fairfield. Organizations shall be classified as Out-of-Town if any members reside outside the Town, regardless of tax-exempt or nonprofit status.

 

This category includes for profit organizations within Fairfield that do not meet the 100% Fairfield resident requirment.

B - District-Sanctioned Before and After School Programs - approved by  the school district to provid before and after school care for Fairifield Students.

C- School Organizations - Officially recognized groups operating within or in partnership with a school to advance the school's mission, enhance the student experience, and promote engagement among students, staff, families and the community.

Please note:

Liability Insurance Requirements:

Organizations or individuals renting facilities from the Board of Education must provide the following minimum insurance coverage, with the specified terms:

Commercial General Liability:

  • Bodily Injury and Property Damage limit of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, including Products/Completed Operations and Contractual Liability.
  • The insurance company must have a rating of no less than A-.
  • There must be no exclusion for abuse and molestation for athletic participants.
  • A 30-day notice of cancellation to the Town is required, except for non-payment of premium, which requires a 10-day notice.

     - Additional Insured:

  • The Town of Fairfield, Fairfield Board of Education, its officers, officials, employees, agents, servants, volunteers, Boards, and Commissions must be included as Additional Insured on a primary and non-contributory basis on the General Liability and Umbrella/Excess policies. A copy of the policy endorsements must be provided.
  • A waiver of subrogation in favor of the additional insured must be included on all policies. A copy of the policy endorsements must be provided.
  • The outside group shall assume all deductibles.
  • In addition to the above provisions, the following may also be required:
  • An umbrella policy providing additional limits, depending on the nature of the event.
  • If the organization will be using any outside vendors at the event, certificates of insurance conforming to the above requirements will be needed from both the vendor and the renter.
